How loyal is each sign of the zodiac? Loyalty itself has different definitions. However, we attempt to illuminate the characteristics of each zodiac sign that may contribute to their “fidelity quotient”.

Loyalty these days…it’s a tough concept. Firstly, some of us define loyalty differently. Secondly, our attitudes and practice of loyalty are forever changing. A teenage girl said to me recently, “Oh, get with the times, everyone cheats on everyone!”

No matter how you define loyalty, there are certain traits of each sign that contribute to their attitude and practice of loyalty.

Note: We are made up of many different signs other than the one most people know–the Sun sign–so you’ll need to take this into account with any listing of the signs’ general qualities.

Libra

Libra lives for partnership, whether it’s a traditional one or a “best friends” relationship. Libra is at its best when partnered and interacting one on one. Libra does value a partnership tremendously, and will do little to risk losing it. However, Libra is also very amorous and charming. With opportunities abounding around them, largely due to their openness to the game of love, they are often at least strongly tempted, and possibly more. The tendency to spin a few yarns is also strong with a classic Libra, so I will leave it up to you to decide how loyal Libra is. I won’t leave it up to Libra, because Libra truly hates making decisions! In fact, many Libras are often deciding between two people.

Scorpio

Scorpio loves deeply and intensely, and craves a depth connection that brings them right out of this world and onto a higher plane. The sex drive is strong, and Scorpio is often attracted to various taboos. If Scorpio isn’t getting an intense experience at home, the mind is sure to wander–even obsess over–fantasies of intense sexual and emotional encounters. Two strong personality traits of Scorpions can divide them on the issue of loyalty. One is the attraction described above–the need for a deeply transforming experience through another person, which can be hard to keep alive in a long-term relationship. However, the other trait is their fixed nature, which tends to cling to what they already have. They do give a relationship their all. The decision whether or not to stray is a tough one, and very individual.

Sagittarius

Sagittarius is known for its wanton ways. This doesn’t mean all Sagittarians are unfaithful by all means. In fact, some are quite religious or hold strong to their particular faith, whatever faith that may be. However, there is a restless quality to Sagittarius that is absolutely undeniable. Saggitarians are also in love with conquest, although they rarely see themselves as predators. Imagine the archer, setting his sights on something far away and seemingly unattainable. Partners of Sagittarians need to be willing to contribute to their lover’s desire for new experiences. Sagittarius simply doesn’t want to stay put in life. He or she wants to explore, and if “exploring” means being unfaithful to an individual Sagittarius, it may very well happen.

Capricorn

Capricorn is practical and steadfast. It’s an “eye on the prize” sign. In love, Capricorn is loyal by nature. If they do cheat on a partner, it is generally done with discretion and care for the family unit. In other words, it’s unlikely Capricorn becomes carried away if he or she values the primary relationship. Capricorn dislikes messy situations, and divorce is generally too public and too complicated for most Capricorns’ tastes. As well, cheating would likely be well-considered, and not done on a whim. Because of this premeditation, Capricorn has plenty of chances to “just say no” to disloyalty, and is thus one of the signs less likely to be unfaithful.

Aquarius

Aquarius is one of the more truthful of the signs–sometimes too truthful in the sense that sometimes lovers want to hear “sweet nothings” and promises of undying love. When Aquarius tells you that they can’t promise you they will be around forever, it’s unlikely because of you. Rather, it’s an intellectual statement and an assessment, of sorts, of the society we live in and of human nature in general! Because of their faithfulness to ideals, Aquarius is not especially given to sneaking around. Interestingly, I have found an unusual number of Aquarians playing around online, and not necessarily translating this playing over to the “real world”. Aquarius is not known to be especially romantic, but generally means it if he or she does promise to be faithful. It’s their definition of faithfulness that might be unsual!

Pisces

Pisces very much means to be faithful. The problem with some Pisceans, however, is that they have so many often-peculiar attractions. They find love in the most unusual places, and in the most unusal people, too! Pisces sees beauty in so very many different forms that it can be hard to stick with one person forever and ever. Mind you, many of them do. Many keep their attractions in the realm of fantasy. Pisces is very good at stretching morals to suit the mood or situation, and can be a sucker for a sob story, too. However, Pisces is also a kind soul with loads to give a partner, and finds it especially easy to make personal sacrifices in the name of love. Yes, Pisces can be lead astray, but doesn’t always have the heart to hurt someone they love.
